The fixes for the problems people hit most often. Menu names vary a little between Android versions and phone makers.
Open InboxTrail and use the setup checklist, or the banner on the Inbox screen, and tap the notification access step. You can also open Android Settings > Apps > Special app access > Notification access > InboxTrail and allow it.
Nothing is saved until this permission is on. If InboxTrail stops saving after a system update, check this setting again.
These phones close background apps aggressively. In InboxTrail, open Settings > Battery help for steps for your device. You can also set InboxTrail to unrestricted in Android Settings > Apps > InboxTrail > Battery.
Android notifications carry the text, not the media file. To keep the full file, InboxTrail needs permission to read WhatsApp's media folder once. In the app, open Settings > Storage > WhatsApp photos, videos and voice notes and choose the folder.
On most phones the path is Android > media > com.whatsapp > WhatsApp > Media. Voice notes are in the WhatsApp Voice Notes folder inside it. InboxTrail only reads files in that folder that match a notification, and you can stop access at any time.
.itbackup file you exported and enter the password you used at export.Import adds the backup's contents; nothing on the phone is overwritten. The password cannot be recovered, so keep it safe. The backup is an encrypted file you chose where to store; InboxTrail never uploads it.
Open Settings > Privacy > Delete all data, or uninstall the app. See delete your data for the full steps.
