Privacy Policy
InboxTrail ("the app") keeps a private copy of notifications that appear on your Android phone, so you can read them later even if the sender deletes them. This policy explains what the app does with your data.
What stays on your phone
- Notification text, sender names, app names, times and links, and (only if you choose "Keep media") photo, video and voice-note copies.
- The App lock PIN and settings.
- Optional encrypted backups you export yourself.
All of this is stored only on your device. We have no server and never upload your messages, photos, videos or voice notes. We cannot read them.
Permissions and why
- Notification access: to save notifications from the apps you choose. The app does not read inside other apps or break their encryption.
- Folder access (optional): for WhatsApp photos, videos and voice notes, you may allow one folder. We only read files from it that match a notification.
- Notifications, battery optimisation, biometrics, internet: to alert you about deleted messages, keep saving in the background, unlock with fingerprint or face, and load ads and settings.
Data collected by services we use
- Google AdMob shows ads. It may use your advertising ID and device information, subject to your consent choice (Google's consent form) and your Android ad settings. Message content is never shared with it.
- Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics collect anonymous usage events (for example which screen features are used, ad loaded or failed) and crash reports with device model, brand and Android version. They never include message text, senders, app names or files. Collection starts only after you accept consent.
- Firebase Remote Config downloads non-personal settings (for example ad limits).
- Google Play Billing handles VIP purchases. We do not see your payment details.
Your choices
- Turn off "Keep photos, videos and voice notes" or stop monitoring any app in Settings.
- Delete all saved data in Settings > Privacy, or uninstall the app. See how to delete your data.
- Revoke notification access any time in Android settings.
- Change ad consent via Google's privacy options.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13.
